DRINKING FOUNTAINS, BENCHES AND SIGNS Runners, walkers and bikers will need some water along the trail and the master plan will determine the best location and how many for drinking fountains. The Master Plan will also help us select a common style for lights, benches, fountains and trash cans. With the completion of the Santa Fe Trail and the Cottonwood Trail we now have a contiguous off street trail system that stretches across Dallas and Richardson from Downtown Dallas all the way to Plano. It will also connect to 4 DART stations serving the Red and Blue lines. Hundreds of thousands of people will be connected by bike to some of the top destinations in the region White Rock lake Dallas Arboretum Fair Park Deep Ellum Downtown Arts District As well as other local attractions like Greek Fest, Shakespeare in the Park, Swiss Ave. Historic District and the Lakewood Tour of Homes. With all these destinations and all these new miles of connected trails we are going to need a better "way finding system" and distance to major points of interest just like on any road. This again is a great opportunity for our group to work with other groups all along the trail to develop a common system with a common look. |     |
