GARLAND ROAD BRIDGE The bridge over Garland Road will be the most visible moniker for the Santa Fe Trail to many people in our neighborhood. This bridge will also be a gateway to Whiterock lake Park area for the south side of the lake. The funded bridge is more or less a standard issue TXDOT utilitarian bridge, but it was designed to be upgraded in the future. Already the park department and at least one local architect have put forward ideas on how the bridge might be enhanced. The Friends of the Santa Fe Trail sees this as a great opportunity to work with the local neighborhood and lake groups to find a design that we can all be proud of. The Trail Master Plan will help set the framework and design parameters for the new bridge as well as help set a priority status and budget.
