The Friends of the Santa Fe Trail have received a challenge grant of up to $2,500 in support of raising matching funds for the North Texas Council of Governments Grant announced in the Dallas Morning News Article.  Please help us match the funds by donating to the Friends of the Santa Fe Trail.

Santa Fe Trail Gets Big Boost with North Texas COG Grant

$80,000 Grant Will Fund Completion of Trail’s Master Plan
  

(Dallas-July 19, 2010) - The Friends of the Santa Fe Trail was recently informed that they have been approved for a major grant from the North Texas Council of Governments.   The $80,000 grant, coupled with a $20,000 matching donation from the Friends of the Santa Fe Trail, will be used to help complete the Trail’s Master Plan.  The Grant application was prepared by the architecture firm Good Fulton and Ferrell.

We just got word that the bridge will be put in place over Garland Road at the very end of August and start of September.  They will have to pour the concrete decking on the bridge and the city will have to inspect the whole trail before they accept ownership of it... but we are really getting close to m...

New Cottonwood Trail Moving Forward

If you ride up the Whiterock Creek Trail just past the DART bridge that goes to Plano you see a little gravel road to the North. A few weeks ago I saw that they put the bridge in place at the Royal DART Station for the Cottonwood trail and took a chance that I would be able to get across. As you will see in the attached photos they are stll working on the foundation of the trail and have not started laying the concreet yet. Cottonwood Creek is actually a really nice crek with a whiterock bott...
